DMCA & Copyright

Quick answer: If you believe a tone on this site uses your work without permission, email contact@ringtonedownload.org with the tone link, proof of ownership and the statements listed below. We take the tone down while we review it, usually within 48 hours.

Our copyright policy

We respect the work of musicians, reciters and sound designers. Every tone on RingtoneDownload.org is original, commissioned with a full rights buyout, released under CC0 or CC BY, or licensed in writing. We keep a licence record for every file, and we do not accept public uploads.

Even so, mistakes can happen. If you think we got one wrong, please tell us. Every tone page has a Report this tone link that brings you here.

How do I report a ringtone?

Email contact@ringtonedownload.org with the subject line "Copyright report" and include:

  1. The tone link, for example https://ringtonedownload.org/ringtone/tone-name/.
  2. Your original work, such as a link to the original release, a registration number or other proof that you own it.
  3. Your contact details: full name, address, phone number and email.
  4. This good-faith statement: "I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material described above is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law."
  5. This accuracy statement: "The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorised to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright that is allegedly infringed."
  6. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).

What happens after I report a tone?

  1. We confirm we received your report, usually within 1 working day.
  2. We remove or disable the tone, usually within 48 hours, while we review it.
  3. We check our licence records for that tone.
  4. We tell you the result. If the report is valid, the tone stays removed for good.

How do I send a counter-notice?

If a tone you created or licensed to us was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same email address. Include:

  1. The link of the removed tone.
  2. Your name, address, phone number and email.
  3. This statement: "I have a good-faith belief, under penalty of perjury, that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification."
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

False reports

Please only report tones you truly believe infringe your rights. Knowingly sending a false notice or counter-notice may make you legally responsible for damages.

Repeat infringers

We do not accept public uploads. If a contributor or licensor is found to have supplied infringing tones more than once, we stop working with them and remove all of their tones.
